Restricted Items
- Weapons of any kind
- Electronics larger than a cell phone
- Any banners, signs, flags, posters, flags on sticks, etc. larger than 8 ½” x 11”
- Coolers and/or outside food/beverage
- Smoking and tobacco products of any kind
- Umbrellas over 24” in length
- Animals, except service animals
**Lehigh University reserves the right to make the final determination on any prohibited items. Possession of prohibited items can be grounds for ejection from the venue.
Weapons Detection Procedure
- All guests who are able to be screened will walk through a weapons detection system prior to entering the venue.
- All bags are subject to search by security personnel.
- If an alarm sounds, the guest will be subject to a secondary security screening that may slow entry into the venue.
- There are alternative screening options for expectant mothers, guests using wheelchairs, or those with medical conditions.
Venue Code of Conduct
- Lehigh University’s Policy on Freedom of Thought, Inquiry and Expression, and Dissent by Students will be enforced during Commencement events.
- Lehigh University is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for all attendees.
- Guests have a right to expect an environment where:
- Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional, and courteous manner by all venue personnel.
- Guests will enjoy every event free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.
- Guests may not interfere with an event in any manner.
- Guests who engage in fighting or throwing objects or attempting to enter restricted areas will be immediately removed from the venue.
- Guests will not smoke or vape in any campus venue.
- Guests will be required to wear a shirt and shoes at all times for their own safety. Guests are not permitted to have signs or clothing with obscene or indecent messages, images, or text.
- Guests will comply with requests from venue staff regarding facility operations and emergency response procedures.
- Guests are also responsible for their own good time by reporting inappropriate behavior.
- Lehigh University staff have been trained to intervene when deemed necessary and to use their best discretion to help ensure that guests that ignore the code of conduct do not interfere with other guests’ ability to enjoy an event.
- Guests who violate the code of conduct may be subject to removal, and to the extent their conduct constitutes a violation of the law, may be subject to arrest.
Additional Information
- Access onto the stadium field will not be permitted during the ceremony.
- Cell phones should be silenced during the ceremony.
- Drones are prohibited on Lehigh campus.
- We encourage you to celebrate your graduate. Please be respectful of those around you.
