Stacey Cunningham

Undergraduate Commencement

Cunningham is the former NYSE president, becoming the first woman to lead the institution in its over 200-year history. Currently serving on the boards of internet infrastructure and cybersecurity provider Cloudflare, the New York Stock Exchange and the Georgetown University Psaros Center for Financial Markets and Policy, Cunningham is a passionate champion of the role capitalism and free markets play in creating economic growth and societal advancement. She is also an advisor to the private equity firm Advent and Uniswap Labs, the digital asset technology provider, bringing her proven leadership in technology, innovation and global finance.

Returning to my alma mater to speak with this year's graduates is incredibly meaningful to me. Lehigh didn't just give me a degree; it gave me a way of thinking. The Class of 2026 graduates with the tools to solve problems that have not yet been defined, in industries that do not yet exist. I cannot wait to see what they build.

Charlie Dent
  • M93

Graduate Commencement/Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

Dent, who served seven terms in the U.S. House of Representatives, is vice president of the Aspen Institute and executive director of the Congressional Program.

While a member of Congress, Charlie was a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee, serving as chair of the Subcommittee on Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies. From 2015 to 2017, he served as the chairman of the House Committee on Ethics. Including his time in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and Senate, Charlie spent nearly 30 years in elected public service. After retiring from Congress, he joined DLA Piper, a global law firm, where he remains a senior policy advisor. He appears on CNN and other networks regularly as a political commentator offering his insight and analysis.

Returning to South Mountain to address Lehigh’s master’s and doctoral students is a profound privilege. My hope is to celebrate their hard work while reminding them that a Lehigh education is just the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of discovery.
