Arts & Athletics at Lehigh

Whether you are interested in participating in Lehigh’s club or Division I athletics scene as a player or a fan, taking advantage of the many on-campus art galleries or exploring your passion for music or theater, Lehigh has something for everyone.

All About the Arts

You might arrive at Lehigh with an already well-established appreciation for the arts, or perhaps you haven’t explored them much. Either way, you’re in luck.

Music

Students interested in music have multiple opportunities to become involved at Lehigh. Options include the choral arts program, the Marching 97, open mic nights and a cappella groups. For those who are looking to enjoy music there are weekly events at the Zoellner Arts Center and a dynamic Southside music scene.

Theater

From acting in formal stage productions to joining the storied Mustard and Cheese society, students are able to participate in theater in a number of different ways. Students can also support productions through theatre stagecraft or work with students in local schools.

Visual Arts

Lehigh University Art Galleries, or LUAG as it is known around campus, is a teaching museum whose mission is to inspire, develop and promote visual literacy and cultural understanding through education opportunities that transform the traditional classroom experience.

Each year, Lehigh hosts “Dancefest,” an annual showcase of the eclectic and robust student dance scene with over 20 groups performing in one of the most energized and anticipated events of the year.

Zoellner Arts Center

The premier university arts center at Lehigh presenting arts for the campus and community, Zoellner Arts Center houses the Lehigh University Music Department, the Department of Theater and Lehigh University Art Galleries.

Lehigh offers more than 40 intramural and club sports including equestrian, flag football, gymnastics, indoor soccer, rugby, cycling and water polo.

Our mission for the 32 club sports at Lehigh is to provide a high-quality, enjoyable and student-engaged athletics experience. Our programs promote student leadership, teamwork, learning and competitiveness across a range of intensity and commitment levels.

Lehigh offers group exercise classes taught by professional instructors who teach all over the Lehigh Valley. Programs include circuit training, small group HIIT training, spin and yoga.

Division I Sports

Lehigh’s 20 men’s and women’s D-I athletic teams compete in the Patriot League against schools like Bucknell, Navy and Loyola throughout the year providing numerous opportunity to cheer on the Mountain Hawks in your favorite sports.

Taylor Gym

Taylor Gym serves as Lehigh's main recreation center for students and staff and contains free weights, cardio equipment, two indoor pools, racquetball and basketball courts, a dance studio, a climbing wall and locker rooms.

SouthSide Arts District

Lehigh’s location in the SouthSide Arts District provides a multitude of opportunities to enjoy the community’s vibrant and innovative artistic, cultural and entrepreneurial heritage.

Lehigh eSports

A newer, student-run gaming club at Lehigh, the eSports Association hosts events, fundraising tournaments and collegiate matchups throughout the year.
