This year is the first in over 100 years that the Lehigh-Lafayette game will not be played. Coach Gilmore said he has gotten calls from alumni asking about the game, hoping that there will be a contest in the near future.
Gilmore is optimistic that the team will get a chance to face Lafayette this coming spring, and said the team might play two games in the calendar year of 2021 to make up for not having a game in 2020.
He said that more than two-thirds of the team are first- and second-year players, making the team a young one.
“I’m really excited about the future. We have a really good set of upperclassmen that can help with the youth of the team and provide them with leadership,” Gilmore said. “I like the talent and I like the attitude we have. I just hope we get the opportunity to play sometime soon.”
