Social Media

The Social Media intern team is comprised of a group of student workers tasked with creating engaging multimedia content, event multimedia promotion and coverage, driving brand awareness and developing ideas and strategies that leverage current social media trends and connect with Lehigh’s target audiences.

Each member of the Social Media team acts as a brand ambassador for Lehigh through their contributions to institutional social media accounts. While the team’s main focus is social media, they also contribute to recruitment and retention marketing efforts through the student perspective insight they bring! The team undoubtedly has a pulse on campus happenings and is an invaluable asset in telling Lehigh students stories.

Media Relations

The Lehigh University media relations team works with its interns to identify student stories, faculty research, and college events of interest to the broader community. Our interns will learn to write for external audiences, pitch story ideas to news outlets, and facilitate interviews. They work with faculty across all five colleges, developing content for reporters such as expert profiles and Q&As — all while using and staying up to date with media monitoring tools and reporter databases.

Interns in the media relations department leave our program familiar with the higher education news ecosystem and an understanding of how to work with a large communications team.
