The graduate program in history at Lehigh offers training in preparation for a career in research and teaching as well as non-academic pursuits. Students may wish to consider department strengths in the following areas: 19th and 20th century US history; Latin American, Caribbean, African and Atlantic African-Diaspora history; British, French, and Spanish Atlantic World Empires; and African-American history.
Students pursuing a Ph.D. are encouraged to identify faculty members they are interested in working with, and are encouraged to contact faculty directly to learn more about opportunities for collaboration and research.
