Graduate Program in Polymer Science and Engineering

Polymer Science and Engineering Overview

The Polymer Science & Engineering (PSE) program at Lehigh University is an interdisciplinary graduate program within the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science. The program brings together faculty from departments such as chemical and biomolecular engineering, materials science and engineering, and mechanical engineering and mechanics, offering students a diverse and comprehensive curriculum. Established in 1975, the program has evolved over the years to keep pace with advancements in the polymer field, particularly in the development of new materials and techniques, as well as in the critical area of material sustainability.

The Polymer Science and Engineering programs are offered in a completely online distance-learning format with the possibility of completing remote research for credit as part of the MS degree.

Master of Science (MS)

The PSE program offers two options to complete the MS program:

  • Course work only: 30 credits
  • Coursework (24 credits) + Thesis (6 credits)

Certificate

A 12-credit graduate level certificate program is designed to meet the needs of working engineers and scientists who are seeking professional advancement in this growing field. It accommodates technical professionals in the plastics and plastics-related industries to further enhance their knowledge of polymer science and engineering.
