Product Design Minor

Explore the foundations of three-dimensional design and the production process.

Lehigh University's Product Design minor teaches students the creative and technical skills needed to thrive in professional design fields. Through hands-on projects and collaborative design studios, they will develop a deep understanding of the production process.

By completing this minor, students gain valuable hands-on experience and insights into the entire product design process, from conceptualization to manufacturing. The minor also allows students to specialize in Materials to Market or Furniture Design programs. Lehigh’s product design graduates work in fields including clothing and textiles, furniture design, interior or spatial design, and the automotive industry, and as purchasing managers.

Key Benefits

  • Interdisciplinary Coursework: While completing the minor, students have the opportunity to take classes in textile design, furniture design, sculpture and architectural design.

  • State-of-the-Art Facilities: Students have access to 30,000 square feet of studio, laboratory, and classroom space at Lehigh’s Mountaintop Campus that support them in developing their own creative projects.
