Dear Lehigh Students and Families,
As we move into the Thanksgiving break, I write to simply express my appreciation for your flexibility this semester and to commend the work students have accomplished up to this point.
Your academic experience has been unlike any that came before it. You’ve been required to significantly adjust the way in which you live, work, conduct research, learn, and connect with others.
Yet you, and your professors, continue to adjust, adapt and to put forth incredible energy and effort toward your academic pursuits.
Despite the numerous challenges and the additional stressors of the pandemic, you are persevering and continuing to work hard towards achieving a Lehigh degree.
I am grateful for the many ways you lead by example and demonstrate, on a daily basis, the traits we most value and lift up as a community.
Approaching exams and the conclusion of the semester, I hope you are able to take a bit of a “breather” over the Thanksgiving break to rest and recharge.
To Lehigh families, thank you for your continued support. I speak on behalf of all staff and faculty when I say that we do not take for granted the tremendous trust our students and families place in the university to maintain a safe, healthy, and productive learning environment. Of course, this cannot be accomplished alone. Our shared efforts have been critical.
While not everyone will be able to come together physically with family over the holiday, I hope all have the opportunity to re-connect and to find renewal in your interactions with friends and loved ones however they occur.
I wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
John D. Simon ’19P
President
