Assistant Professor P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science Department:Industrial and Systems EngineeringCourses currently teaching:ISE364— Introduction to Machine LearningDegrees held:Postdoc at Columbia University Irving Medical Center; Ph.D. in in Industrial and Systems Engineering (University of Florida); Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (Huazhong University of Science and Technology)What are your research interests?High-dimensional data modeling, Multimodal learning, Tensor analyticsWhat do you enjoy most about teaching? What I love most about teaching is the opportunity to spark curiosity and help students build confidence in their own abilities. It’s such a great moment when you see a complex idea “clicks” for a student (when they move from confusion to understanding and realize they can apply what they’ve learned independently). I also enjoy supporting students in more than just the subject matter, like helping them think critically, solve problems, and build resilience, that I believe will help them in life well beyond the classroom. Why did you choose Lehigh?Lehigh has an excellent ISE program, and it’s my honor to work with such outstanding faculties in the areas of optimization, machine learning, and data science. It creates the perfect environment for me to develop as a distinguished researcher and push my skills further. On top of that, the campus is beautiful, and the location is very convenient, which makes the overall experience even more enjoyable. What was your previous institution?Columbia University Irving Medical Center
