What are your research interests?

My research focuses on engineering next-generation membrane materials and processes for energy-efficient separations across the water–energy–materials nexus. My work addresses applications in critical mineral recovery, brine management, industrial process separations, contaminant removal, and AI-guided membrane design and validation.

What classes are you teaching at Lehigh?

TBD

What degrees do you hold and where did you earn them?

Bachelor of Science (Wuhan University of Technology); Master of Science (UCLA); Ph.D. (UCLA)

What was your previous institution?

Rice University

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I enjoy helping students connect fundamental principles with real-world environmental challenges. Teaching gives me the opportunity to inspire curiosity, encourage independent thinking, and help students develop the technical and creative skills needed to address pressing water and sustainability problems.

Why did you choose Lehigh?

I chose Lehigh because of its strong commitment to interdisciplinary research, high-quality education, and collaborative engineering culture. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering & Applied Science provide an excellent environment to build a research program at the intersection of water, materials, energy, and sustainability. I am excited to work with Lehigh students and colleagues and contribute to the university’s growing impact in environmental engineering.
