Well Wishes for Ricardo Hall, Vice President for Student Affairs

A message from President Helble to members of the Lehigh community.

Dear Members of the Lehigh Community,

Today, I am writing to share the news that Ricardo Hall, Vice President for Student Affairs, will be starting a new role as the Vice President for Student Life at Denison University after seven years of dedicated service to Lehigh.

Ric has been an instrumental part of our Lehigh community, bringing unwavering commitment and exceptional leadership to his role. During his tenure, Lehigh saw its focus on the mental and physical well-being of students and sense of belonging reach new heights. We now have a permanent Well-Being Committee that includes the voices of faculty, staff and students as well as a student affairs Well-Being Chair tasked with being a lead voice and thought leader among the many student affairs offices providing well-being services to our community.

Ric also built many impactful programs and initiatives—such as revamping First Year Orientation to ensure the student experience took into account the richly diverse makeup of our student population, and creating support services for students during and after the pandemic focused on finding ways to assist students struggling in both remote and in-person settings.

The student affairs area was recognized three times (2020, 2023, 2024) by Diverse Issues in Higher Education as a “Most Promising Place to Work in Student Affairs” as a direct result of his efforts to recruit and support a highly skilled and richly diverse staff of professionals. His achievements have ensured a strong future for Lehigh and strengthened the bonds within our community.

Ric’s last day at Lehigh will be June 30.

I would like to personally express my gratitude for Ric's remarkable contributions during his tenure.

This move represents an exciting new chapter for both Ric and his family. Please join me in extending our warmest well wishes to them, and special thanks to Ric for his lasting contributions, positive impact, and the spirit of wellness, community, and sense of belonging that he helped to cultivate at Lehigh.
