Tragic Loss of Student

A message sent to members of the Lehigh community.

Dear Members of the Lehigh Community,

It is with deep sadness that I write to share the news of the loss of a fourth-year undergraduate Lehigh student, Yuehan Wang, who died suddenly off campus earlier today. Our thoughts and support are with the student’s family, loved ones, and housemates during this incredibly challenging time. Lehigh University police have been in contact with the student’s housemates and the family has been notified.

The sudden loss of someone so young is difficult to comprehend. As we come together to support one another as a community, I encourage those who may be struggling with this news to seek support.

Counseling & Psychological Services is available and can be reached at 610-758-3880 for those in need of support. Undergraduate and graduate students also may speak with a licensed clinical professional through My SSP, which is available remotely 24/7 in multiple languages.

In the coming days, Student Affairs will be following up with students with additional support. As we grieve, please take care of yourselves and take care of one another.
