Summer Building Access

A message sent to members of the Lehigh community.

Dear Members of the Lehigh Community,

Following up on the previous message regarding building access, we are planning to extend the current campus access profile over the summer months. Unless otherwise indicated, buildings will revert to their regular operating schedules on Monday, August 21. Lehigh libraries will revert to their regular operating schedules effective immediately.

Individuals affiliated with Lehigh will continue to have access to academic buildings from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM and all other current operations will remain in place as they are currently structured (buildings will continue to be accessible by card swipe ONLY unless otherwise noted).

Groups that are hosting events on campus may make arrangements with the IDEAL office if event attendees require access to buildings. The IDEAL office will coordinate programming cards for pick up and return by event organizers (returned cards will be reused and reprogrammed for other such events).

People who will be staying in our residence halls are already issued access cards and keys. The IDEAL office will work with Conference Services to program these cards with the appropriate access.

Visitors not staying on campus will be issued an ID card to be used to access the spaces needed.

Requests to "unlock" doors typically will not be granted unless there will be Lehigh police, security, staff, or faculty members at that location for the duration of the event.

Large-scale events, such as Alumni Weekend are an exception and doors can and will be programmed to be unlocked, as needed.

We received a positive response and are pleased to be able to continue these operations through the summer.
