“A few weeks into the semester, I met a Lehigh undergraduate student on one of my morning runs. I asked about her experience and how things were going for her and her friends. She shared that she and her friends—reflecting on last year’s challenges—felt a deepened commitment to maintaining this semester’s experience on campus.
I’ve heard similar comments from other students, graduate and undergraduate alike, as well as from faculty and staff, all of whom have expressed collective ownership and a dedication to making this academic year successful. There’s a sentiment that we want to protect and preserve what last year was strained by the realities of the pandemic—namely, a feeling of community. And so, together, we are this fall working on reconnecting our entire Lehigh community.”
