President Helble Signs ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge’s Higher Education President’s Commitment

Lehigh joins more than 450 college presidents in signing the challenge.

Lehigh University has joined more than 450 college presidents and chancellors in promoting student voter registration and participation in all elections through the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge. To support full student voter participation of all eligible students, ALL IN and its Higher Education Presidents Council has launched a call to action for higher education presidents and chancellors to fully engage students in electoral participation. A full list of signatories can be found here.

"Voting is the hallmark of our democracy," said Helble in a video message to the Lehigh campus community. "As many know, younger voters, ages 18 to 24 turn out in lower percentages than the nation as a whole, and historically, this gap is even larger in midterm election years. In 2018, turnout among this age group was less than two-thirds of that of the population as a whole. To our students and to all in our community, please take the time to participate. Get out and vote on Tuesday, November 8."
