Lorraine Barber-Miller '96, Chief Marketing & E-Commerce Officer at Philips, will be featured at the 15th lecture in the Donald M. Gruhn '49 Distinguished Finance Speaker Series. She is recognized internationally for building businesses and delivering exceptional financial results across mature and growth markets in consumer and professional domains.
Barber-Miller will give essential insights into applied principles and strategies for achieving sustainable growth and success in today's ever-changing business landscape. She will explore the power of strategic leadership and innovation in driving transformational growth within global organizations.
This year’s lecture will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 10 in Baker Hall in the Zoellner Arts Center. It’s free to the public. RSVP is requested. Andrew Ward, chair of the department of management, will moderate the discussion. A question and answer session with the audience will follow.

Barber-Miller has received numerous awards and industry recognition for her work. In 2023, Barber-Miller was named to the Forbes Entrepreneurial CMO 50 list, with recognition from Constellation Research as a Top 100 Customer Experience Leader and the Innovation award from the Business Intelligence Group. In 2022, Chief Marketer named her the Marketer of the Year, while Brand Innovators recognized her for a second time as one of the Top 100 Women in Brand Marketing.

Donald M. Gruhn '49 Distinguished Finance Speaker Series was started by Judy and Don Gruhn in 2008 with the purpose of bringing industry leaders to campus to share their experiences.
This event qualifies for the Student to Professional co-curriculum and the Creative Curiosity 5x10 Foundation. Students should bring their IDs.
