Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs Announces Reinstatement of Live-in Graduate Assistant Program

The program, which pairs each on-campus fraternity and sorority house with a live-in Graduate Assistant (GA), will be implemented after having been delayed because of COVID.

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority (OFSA) announced beginning steps towards reinstating the Live-In Graduate Assistant program, which will fully launch in Fall 2022 after having been postponed in 2020 because of COVID.

The program pairs each on-campus fraternity and sorority house with a live-in Graduate Assistant (GA). GAs will be oriented and trained in a manner consistent with other Residence Life staff members. Each chapter will participate in the interview/selection process for prospective GAs.

Earlier in the Spring 2020 semester, OFSA and Housing Services met with each residential fraternity and sorority’s leadership, advisors and headquarters to discuss accommodations for each Live-in GA within each house, as well as the position description, recruitment and selection timeline, and the onboarding process.

OFSA provided an updated timeline on the recruitment, selection, and onboarding timeline in an email.
