Lehigh's one-year, full-time MBA program in the College of Business has been ranked in the top 50 MBA programs in the United States by the QS 2021 Global MBA Rankings.
In addition, the 1-MBA program was ranked in the top 110 full-time MBA programs across the world, according to the same ranking.
The ranking included submissions from business schools covering more than 40 countries and provides key insights for prospective graduate business students into the global landscape of MBA programs from around the world.
Lehigh’s 1-MBA program offers students a pathway to a full-time MBA program experience in one year. The program is designed for professionals who wish to either pivot their career development toward a business-related area, which may not be in their previous field of employment, or accelerate their career growth within their chosen field.
The rigorous curriculum includes the functional areas of business and embraces the shared value model that recognizes various stakeholders in today’s high-tech, modern societies, as well as a consulting engagement within a company. The one-year duration of program model, when compared to the traditional two-year MBA full-time model, significantly reduces the opportunity costs of those who forego their current employment to attend.
“I was most pleased with seeing how well Lehigh’s 1-MBA program ranked in the Return on Investment subset of the QS Global MBA Ranking, said Kevin Ezzell, 1-MBA program director. "This indicates that our students time spent solidifying their business skills has resulted in an immediate impact in terms of career progression."
Lehigh’s 1-MBA program ranked No. 29 among business schools in the United States in the Return on Investment subcategory of the ranking.
The 1-MBA program offers both a general focus MBA as well as a STEM-designated MBA with a business analytics concentration.
“The STEM designated Business Analytics concentration allows us to attract a diverse talent pool of students from across the world and also supports why the Global MBA ranking aligns so well with the 1-MBA program,” said Oliver Yao, associate dean, Graduate Business Programs at Lehigh.
he addition of a one year MBA with STEM designation is beneficial to both domestic and international students as it can give students a significant advantage in their job search. For international students, having a STEM designated degree allows for an additional 24 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) for STEM-related employment.
