Amy White is the Director of Media Relations in the Office of Communications and Public Affairs. She identifies stories, pitches to media, writes articles for online and print, responds to media queries, and provides crisis communications support. Her favorite part of media relations is telling stories and creating connections between media, researchers, and the Lehigh community.

Amy has worked in higher education communications since 2006 and joined Lehigh University in 2010. She previously led public relations for Lehigh’s Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation (2012-2016) and Center for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology and Department of Materials Science and Engineering (2010-2012). Before coming to Lehigh, she managed communications and outreach for a research center at University of Missouri-Columbia that explored religion and public life.

Amy’s media relations and digital media efforts have been recognized with awards from the association for higher education communications professionals, College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals (CUPRAP). Before joining higher education, Amy was an award-winning print journalist for 12 years, reporting on diverse topics for several California newspapers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies from University of California, Davis.
