8.30.21: Ensuring a Successful Semester at Lehigh University

A message sent to Lehigh Families by Provost Nathan Urban and Vice President for Student Affairs Ric Hall.

Dear Lehigh Families,

We wanted you to be aware of two messages that were sent to your Lehigh students earlier today. The first was information about how students can help to ensure a successful semester. A message regarding how to schedule testing and other health and safety information followed by the COVID Response Team (CRT).

Many students and faculty—as well as many Lehigh families—have expressed their excitement about the first week of the semester and the relative normalcy of in-person classes and activities. It has truly felt like we are getting back to the Lehigh we love.

We all want to be able to maintain this level of activity safely and have provided this additional guidance to students, faculty and staff with the aim of supporting a more in-person and engaged experience for students this semester. We encourage you to read the two messages shared above.

As you may know, the CRT constitutes a command center for the purposes of assessing and addressing day-to-day University operations and the evolving health issues impacting our community. Throughout the pandemic and continuing through this academic year, the CRT meets frequently each week to monitor conditions and assess mitigation protocols to support the health and safety of campus and the greater South Bethlehem community.

Messages to campus can be found at any time posted on the Latest Updates section of the University’s COVID Information Center.

Lehigh families will be included in regular COVID-related updates sent to the campus throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Nathan Urban

Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs
