Dear Student,
This e-mail contains essential information about vaccination and COVID-related requirements for the Fall 2021 semester. The success of our return to campus this semester depends on each and every one of us, so it is vital that you pay careful attention to this information and the deadlines listed below. Failing to follow these protocols jeopardizes the safety of our entire campus community. Please read this thoroughly and be sure to schedule a time to pick up a COVID-19 test after your arrival. If you have not done so already, please be sure to e-mail your arrival date to intnl@lehigh.edu.
Arrival:
Quarantine Requirement:
If you are fully vaccinated (14+ days after the final dose of a FDA or WHO authorized vaccine) you do not need to quarantine upon arrival in the United States or to Lehigh University. If you are NOT fully vaccinated with a FDA or WHO authorized vaccine, you do need to quarantine for 7 days upon arrival in the United States (this quarantine location does not need to be at Lehigh).
Testing:
It is recommended by the CDC that all international travelers complete a COVID-19 test 3-5 days upon arrival in the United States whether fully vaccinated or not. For students requiring quarantine, picking up a COVID-19 test is one of the few reasons that you will be able to leave your room during the quarantine period.
Students who will be in the Bethlehem area upon arrival can obtain a self-collected, mail-in COVID-19 test 3-5 days after arrival date to the U.S. You can pick up your test at the tent outside of the Health and Wellness Center at Johnson Hall. Please schedule a time to pick up your test kit. There is no fee for this test. More information regarding the type of test and other details are available here.
More information regarding international arrival can be found here. If you have any questions not answered in the FAQ, please send a secure message to the Health Center using the patient portal.
Health forms:
The August 4 deadline to upload a copy of your COVID vaccination card or request an exemption and to submit all other required health forms on the HWC portal is rapidly approaching: 8 days remain to submit your information at this link. Visit the university’s Vaccination Resources page for additional information.
On-Campus Vaccination Clinic:
We are partnering with Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) to offer an on-campus vaccination clinic on August 17 for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine and September 7 for the second dose. Please bring your Lehigh ID. Sign up here
If you are receiving your vaccination after your arrival to the US (at the vaccination clinic or another location), you still need to submit a medical exemption request (which will be granted as a time limited exemption to allow you time to get vaccinated). You can submit the medical exemption on the patient portal.
We appreciate your commitment to keeping our campus community safe and healthy this semester, and we look forward to meeting you very soon!
Safe travels!
