Dear Students,
As of today, there are 9 days left until the August 4 deadline to upload a copy of your COVID vaccination card on the HWC portal or to request a medical or religious exemption. Verification of vaccination or an approved exemption is required for all Lehigh undergraduate and graduate students participating in on-campus programs and activities.
Medical and Religious Exemptions Update - Please Respond Promptly to Requests for Additional Information
If you are requesting an exemption from the student COVID vaccination requirement, please do so as soon as possible.
Medical exemption requests are being reviewed by the Health and Wellness Center (HWC). Students will be notified by the HWC if additional supporting documentation is required or if the request is approved or denied. Religious exemption requests will be reviewed by the Religious Exemption Request Review Committee, a separate review committee comprising staff from Student Affairs, the Chaplain’s Office, and the Equal Opportunity Compliance Office. Students who have requested or plan to request a religious exemption will receive a secure message from the Health and Wellness Center with instructions about next steps. Be on the lookout for this information (by next week for those who already have submitted their request) and please promptly submit the requested information as instructed to the Religious Exemption Request Review Committee so that your request can be reviewed and approved or denied.
Verification of Vaccination
All students must complete their final dose of an approved COVID vaccine at least 14 days prior to their planned return to campus (or receive an approved exemption). Please be aware that failure to submit verification of vaccination or a medical/religious exemption request by the August 4 deadline will result in a “Hold” being placed on students’ accounts. For students living on campus, failure to complete all required immunizations and documentation could delay your arrival and check-in. If you have not yet been vaccinated, or if you have been vaccinated and have not yet uploaded a copy of your vaccination card, please do so as soon as possible by following these instructions.
Free T-Shirt and Cup of Coffee From the Grind
We are pleased to share that as a thank you for uploading your vaccination information or requesting an exemption by the August 4 deadline, students will receive a free limited edition Lehigh T-shirt. Also, the Grind will be providing vouchers for a free cup of coffee. Students will be able to pick up their tees (one per student) and coffee vouchers (first 2,000 students to claim vouchers) during orientation and the first week of classes (locations TBD). Please submit your information by August 4 to be eligible.
