**A message sent to first-year students.**
Congratulations on joining the Lehigh University Class of 2024.
Hopefully by now you have had the opportunity to review your Lehigh Welcome Kit. As indicated in Section 2 - Live Lehigh, part of your First Year Student responsibilities is to complete your online Housing Application by June 5, 2020.
Lehigh’s senior leadership team continues to plan for various scenarios for the fall semester in keeping with health, safety, and government guidance. Find past and future university updates on the Lehigh COVID information page: https://www2.lehigh.edu/news/updates-on-novel-coronavirus.
We are optimistic we will be welcoming students on campus in some fashion and expect to gain greater clarity on what the fall semester might look like through the course of the summer. We are moving forward with the housing selection process at this time knowing that our plans will need to provide for flexibility.
Please be aware that housing assignments could change as a result of this scenario planning. We will communicate these changes if and as they occur.
Given this flexibility, it’s important to note that the information and preferences we collect are not guarantees and could be honored in alternative ways pending various scenarios. For example, should conditions not allow for students to live in doubles, your noted roommate preferences may be accommodated by being assigned the same floor or in some other configuration. Should living on campus not be feasible in any capacity, we will also communicate that with you, and your contract will not be binding.
The Housing Application is available on the Portal under the evoLUtion:1 tab, Summer Checklist channel, click on the Submit Housing Contract.
If you are having difficulty logging on to the portal or do not have the evoLUtion:1 tab, please contact the Library & Technology Services (LTS) Help Desk at 610-758-HELP or email helpdesk@lehigh.edu.
If you wish to petition for exemption of the First Year Student Residency Requirement, please fill out the Petition for Exemption and email it to : inhouse@lehigh.edu or fax it to 610-758-3568 by June 5, 2020.
If you have any questions regarding the Housing Contract, please feel free to send an email to: inhouse.edu for assistance.
If you have made a decision to not attend Lehigh, please send an email to the Office of Admissions at inado@lehigh.edu indicating your plans.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter.
