3.7.24: Strategic Plan Progress Update

A message sent to members of the Lehigh community.

Dear members of the Lehigh Community,

As many students leave campus for Spring Break, and many faculty and staff look to next week for respite, we write to share progress made toward the goals of the Inspiring the Future Makers strategic plan, since the campus community convened on January 31. Below are a few highlights– the results of the efforts of our great Lehigh community.

Future Maker Program

  • Team teaching grant proposals to encourage the development of interdisciplinary courses have been reviewed and four have been awarded.

  • Data Informed Decision future maker proposals are due April 15, 2024. Details on application submission categories and criteria, as well as how to apply through InfoReady, are available on the website.

  • Later this spring we will request proposals for ideas for how we can significantly grow specific graduate and professional programs. The focus will be on in-person and online Masters and certificate programs.

Data Day

  • As announced at the January campus update, plans are underway for the first Data Day event later this Spring. This event will explore data tools, usage, and case studies on ways to leverage data in daily decisions. Participants for whom data is essential to their decision making have been identified by senior leaders, and will receive a formal invitation in early April.

Inter-College Program

  • Available for Fall 2024, a new IC program in Business and Health will train students to become leaders in the health industry. Students from this program will have both an understanding of the core principles of business and an in-depth knowledge of health economics and policy. Details for this new inter-college program in Business and Health will be announced soon.

Lehigh UDI Symposium

  • Also recently announced, the second Lehigh UDI symposium will take place on March 20, 2024. Register now to reserve your spot. For the full agenda, speaker bios and to learn more about Lehigh UDI, we encourage you to visit the Innovation in Education website.

The future we make together is better than the one we make alone. Thank you for your continued participation.
