11.6.23: Inspiring the Future Makers Progress

A message sent to members of the Lehigh community.

Dear Members of the Campus Community,

The fall semester is moving quickly. The strategic initiatives are underway, in various stages of progress. We hope you have taken the opportunity to join some of the discussions and workshops that have taken place this semester.

Every member of our community plays a meaningful role in our plan’s success over the next decade. The many actions underway represent the work of people across the campus and there is praise to go around for the many efforts. It is truly inspiring to see the substantial progress made so far. To advance key elements of the strategic plan, we are announcing Future Maker Strategy Grants. Funded future maker projects will activate high priority areas and help build momentum toward achieving Lehigh’s long-term objectives.

Future Maker Strategy Grants

These grants offer opportunities for Lehigh academic departments, programs, centers and institutes (up to $20K one time funds); and Lehigh community members (up to $10K one time funds) to receive grants that support projects aligned with the goals or initiatives of the Inspiring the Future Makers strategic plan.

Review of submissions for both programs will begin December 10, 2023, and will be supported with a funding date of January 2024. Funds should be spent within the 2024 calendar year and are not intended to be renewable. Details are available on the website.

Implementation logistics

The Office of Strategic Planning & Initiatives website serves as the home for operational updates and centrally curated information related to the implementation of Inspiring the Future Makers. Visit the initiative webpages and continue to check back for additional events that will give you the opportunity to engage in and learn more about the initiatives.

Save the Date - January 31

Also, please mark your calendars for January 31, 2024, from 3:30-5:00 when we will come together as a campus to discuss the implementation progress. Details will follow.

The future is ours for the making.
