Waste Management chairman to speak on resource use and recycling

Companies and institutions can and do manage natural resources in innovative ways using science and technology. Lehigh parent Jack Pope ’08P ’10P, a member of the Parents’ Committee, will share his insights into resource use and recycling during a presentation at 4 p.m. Friday in Packard Lab.

Pope will also talk about job opportunities and majors that are applicable to the field.

The lecture has been included as part of a slate of activities planned for Family Weekend as a way to tap into the expertise of Lehigh parents.

Pope is the chairman of the board of Waste Management, Inc., the leading provider of comprehensive waste and environmental services in North America. He is also chairman of PFI Group LLC, a financial management firm that invests primarily in private equity opportunities. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer of United Airlines.
