Through life’s changes, Lehigh remains

A lot can happen in five years.
That's how long we go between our college reunions, most of us. And every time a reunion rolls around, we find we've arrived at a completely different place in our lives.
We come back after the first five years, and we're finally established firmly in our career path, maybe about to get married. Come back the next time, something else has changed: maybe kids, maybe a new job, a big move. Come back the next time, we've moved on to the next chapter.
These quinquennial homecomings help to connect us to who we are, who we were, and who we want to be. We can celebrate how far we've come and remember where we once imagined we would go.
It just so happens that this month I will be attending my own 20-year Lehigh Reunion. And as times of change go, they don't come too much more dynamic. I'll be getting married in just a few months. In just a few weeks, I'll be moving to New York State and starting a new job after nearly seven years as your alumni director. I'll be departing Lehigh for the first time since I walked on campus as a freshman, 24 years ago. Times change for universities as well as for individuals, and Lehigh and I have seen each other through plenty of changes.
So this will be my last Lehigh Reunion too, at least in one capacity. But of course, we Lehigh alumni, we're Lehigh for Life ... like I've been saying for the past seven years. I'll see you around.
