Student political organizations sponsor abortion debate
Lehigh’s College Democrats and College Republicans will sponsor a debate on the hotly contested issue of abortion at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 in Packard Auditorium.
Representing the pro-choice side will be Kathryn Kolbert, a nationally known reproductive-health and civil rights attorney who has successfully argued cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. Kolbert is one of the 100 most influential lawyers in America, according to the National Law Journal, and is widely credited with “saving Roe v. Wade.”
Representing the pro-life side will be Scott Klusendorf, the author of Pro-Life 101: A Step-by-Step Guide to Making Your Case Persuasively. Klusendorf has also published articles from the pro-life perspective in The Christian Research Journal, Clear Thinking, Focus on the Family Citizen, and The Conservative Theological Journal. He frequently travels around the country to lecture on and debate this topic.
An informal discussion period with Kolbert will follow the debate.
