SouthMountain GoldPLUS expands into South Side

The card is now accepted at both the Deja Brew coffeehouse and the Goosey Gander Deli. This is the first step toward expanding the SouthMountain GoldPLUS program to include local South Side businesses that serve the Lehigh community.
Since the university has offered this convenient payment method at university-affiliated South Side businesses such as The Cup, Pastaficio and Jazzman’s with considerable success, we are now able to extend the method of currency-free payment to other merchant partners, says Peggy Plympton, vice president of finance and administration for Lehigh, in announcing the expanded program.
The university is working with a number of other local South Side vendors popular with students, and hopes to announce new partners to the program at an initial rate of roughly four per month. University officials pledged to regularly review the program to ensure it is meeting the needs of the university, its students, faculty and staff, and participating merchants.
Lehigh is pleased to be able to provide this convenient and valuable service to our students, faulty and staff, with the help of local business partners, Plympton says. The addition of new vendors can only strengthen an already viable South Side community, and Lehigh is pleased to be able to play a role in that resurgence by partnering with local businesses.
