Single-day tickets for Dalai Lama’s teachings now on sale
Single-day tickets for the historic series of teachings to be delivered at Lehigh University this July by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama went on sale beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 14.
His Holiness will present five-and-a-half days of teaching from Thursday, July 10, through Tuesday, July 15, at Lehigh’s Stabler Arena. Tickets are $45 per day, with each single-day ticket covering the morning and afternoon sessions; tickets for the Sunday, July 13, morning session only will be $25.
The spiritual leader of Tibet, who received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, will teach on Tsong-kha-pa’s Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment: The Lamrim Chenmo. It represents the most extensive teaching on the classic Tibetan Buddhist text that the Dalai Lama has presented in North America.
“When you come to these teachings, it’s a very personal experience for everybody there,” says Joshua W.C. Cutler, codirector of the Tibetan Buddhist Learning Center in Washington, N.J., which is sponsoring the teachings and public lecture in collaboration with Lehigh. “You get to meet somebody who really deeply cares about anyone that he meets. You don’t get to meet people like that in your life very often. It’s a great opportunity that we wanted to make available to people who just couldn’t commit themselves to five-and-a-half days.”
Single-day tickets may be purchased online at TicketMaster.com; by calling TicketMaster at (215) 336-2000, (570) 693-4100 or (610) 233-0006; and in person at any TicketMaster outlet and at the Stabler Arena box office.
In addition to the teachings, His Holiness will deliver a public lecture, “Generating a Good Heart,” the afternoon of July 13; tickets for the public lecture are sold out.
For more information about the event, please visit Lehigh’s Dalai Lama Web site, e-mail indalai@lehigh.edu, or call (610) 758-6664.
