Debate Leaves Residents Footing the Bill
Donald Bolle, interim chairman of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Lehigh, was quoted in an article about the ongoing debate over burying high-voltage power lines between Middletown and Norwalk. Burying high-voltage electric wires has been common for a number of years overseas, particularly in countries such as Italy and the Netherlands, said Bolle. It is typically done in high-density urban areas where acquiring land and homes to clear a path for overhead wires isn’t practical, Bolle added.

Eagles Will Land Back at Lehigh U. for Training Next Year
The Philadelphia Eagles won't begin preseason training at Lehigh University until Tuesday, but the team has already made plans to come back. ''We have exercised our option and will be returning to Lehigh next year,'' said a source in the Eagles organization. It's an annual question whether the Eagles will train preseason at Lehigh's Murray H. Goodman Campus in Bethlehem because the university and the team have a year-to-year contract. ''We're pleased with their decision and are happy that they decided to return for another year,” said Brad Drexler, vice president of university relations at Lehigh.

Eagles Migrating Back to Lehigh
It's time to take a summer trip to ... the gridirons of Lehigh University to take in some football. The Philadelphia Eagles are once again holding training camp on campus -- albeit for the shortest duration ever -- and will begin welcoming fans, free of charge, starting with their first practice on Wednesday morning. Autograph sessions are scheduled on all but three days. Other child-friendly activities are planned, such as the NFL Experience, an interactive play area in which children can throw and kick footballs. The NFL Experience will be open daily during every practice. In addition, the Eagles will conduct Kid's Day on Aug. 6. Activities will include running, face-painting, signups for the new Kids Club and an appearance by mascot SWOOP. Children must pre-register on the Web site www.PhiladelphiaEagles.com to reserve a spot.
