Lehigh was mentioned in an article regarding Eagles reporting to training camp. On Tuesday, the rookies report and by next Friday night, the entire roster of the Eagles should be at Lehigh University for the start of training camp. Soon the daily caravans will jam up the Northeast Extension on the way to Bethlehem to watch the Birds prepare for the 2004 season, the article said.

June Conference Focuses on Evolution Lessons
Michael Behe, professor of biological sciences at Lehigh and author of the best selling book “Darwin’s Black Box – The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution,” was a speaker at a three-day forum this summer for educators. The Highlands conference is sponsored by Community Bible Church and will present views of 10 academics who believe it is time for a change in the teaching of evolution. “The Intelligent Design Conference in Highlands this summer will be a great opportunity for teachers to learn the evidence for design in nature,” said Behe. “The teachers can then show their students that life is not the purposeless accident that aggressive Darwinists claim it to be.”

Paul Chou, violinist, conductor of the Lehigh University Philharmonic Orchestra and associate professor of music at Lehigh, will direct the 15-piece professional “La Mancha” orchestra being held at DeSales University Labuda Center for the Arts from 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday, through Aug. 8; also 2 p.m. July 28 and 31, Aug. 4 and 7, and 7:30 p.m. family night July 25.
