Jon Gottshall, a squirrel enthusiast who's hypothesized that there's a connection between the quality of campuses and the size and friendliness of their squirrel population, included Lehigh in his rankings.

Agere's CEO Gets $600,000 Bonus
Parveen Gupta, associate professor of accounting at Lehigh, was quoted in an article on Agere CEO John Dickson's bonus for turning a profit in fiscal year 2003. ''During the bad times, Agere had a cash-flow crisis and it is pretty common to suspend bonuses during those times,'' said Gupta. ''When good times return, you go ahead and pay bonuses because paying bonuses are important to motivate people.'' Gupta, who had not examined Agere's proxy statement when contacted by The Morning Call, said the key to any ancillary compensation is full disclosure.
