Tests Show No Damage to Bridge
John Fisher, professor emeritus of civil and environmental engineering at Lehigh, was quoted in an article about the cracks in the new Memorial Causeway Bridge. He agreed with an early analysis that shows cracks in the four tallest concrete columns aren’t bad enough to force crews to tear them down and start over. We're talking thousandths of an inch, he said. That's a very small crack.

Bargain-Hunting ISG Just Can’t Stop Buying Steelmakers
Mary Beth Deily, an associate professor of economics at Lehigh University, continues to be quoted in an article about International Steel Group. In business for just two years, ISG has catapulted to the top of the industry by buying bankrupt steel makers at bargain prices. According to Deily, ISG has succeeded at dealing with the union and getting everybody on board and moving ahead and getting the workers to kind of buy into what sacrifices they have to make to keep this capacity running.

“Night Sky” An Enlightening Look at Trauma, Silence
Presented by Lehigh University theater professor and director Pam Pepper and her cast and crew, ''Night Sky'' is an enlightening evening of theatrical entertainment. ''Night Sky'' is a play about a medical condition called aphasia, in which a person is unable to speak following a trauma. The play will be shown Wednesday through Saturday at Zoellner Arts Center, Diamond Theatre.
