Natalie Cole to headline Zoellner’s Gala2009

Natalie Cole

Nine-time Grammy Award winner Natalie Cole is performing at Zoellner Arts Center’s Gala2009 on Oct. 10, 2009 at 8 p.m. The concert will feature music from her 2008 Grammy Award-winning album Still Unforgettable to celebrate Zoellner’s 13th year.
Cole, the daughter of Nat King Cole, captured the Best New Artist Grammy in 1975. She has appealed to fans and critics alike with her mix of R&B, pop and jazz. Her list of hit songs include “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love),” “Inseparable,” “Our Love,” “I’ve Got Love On My Mind,” “Pink Cadillac” and “Miss You Like Crazy.”
Still Unforgettable, with 14 standards, is Cole’s 21st studio album. It includes a posthumous duet with her father, “Walkin’ My Baby Back Home,” first recorded by Nat King Cole in the early 1950s. Still Unforgettable combines much-beloved classics like “The Best is Yet To Come,” “Come Rain or Come Shine,” “Nice ‘N’ Easy” with great songs that Cole discovered for the first time, such as “Coffee Time,” a recommendation from Tony Bennett.
General public tickets will not be available until Aug. 7. Season-long subscribers get the first chance at Gala2009 tickets and subscriptions will become available in early May.
Gala2009 benefits Zoellner Arts Center, the premier center for the arts in the Lehigh Valley. Each year, the center presents more than 100 gallery exhibits and performances by guest artists and students from Lehigh University’s Music and Theatre Departments.
