Moran named chief of staff
Gregory Farrington, Lehigh president, has announced the appointment of Tracey Moran to the position of chief of staff in the Office of the President. Currently, she serves as assistant vice president of university communications.
In this newly created role, Moran will work closely with Farrington to plan and implement key institutional initiatives that align with the Seven Goals for Lehigh. In addition, she will provide overall leadership for management of the office staff in the president’s office and will continue to play a role leading important institutional communications projects that initiate in the president’s office.
She will assume her new position effective July 1.
“Tracey has done an outstanding job in leading Lehigh’s communications area,” said Farrington, who announced her appointment at the Board of Trustees meeting last week.
“Her strong working relationships in nearly every area of the university and depth of knowledge of the university and its people will be valued assets in her role as chief of staff.”
Prior to coming to Lehigh in 2001, Moran served as manager of corporate communications for Easton-based Binney & Smith, where she directed marketing communications, employee communications and global crisis communications, as well as public and community affairs. Previous to that, she held positions of increasing responsibility at Elkman Advertising & Public Relations, a leading Philadelphia-based agency, and The Tierney Group, Philadelphia’s largest strategic communications firm.
Moran holds a bachelor’s degree in Speech Communications from Pennsylvania State University.
