Lehigh U goes iTunesU

	Lehigh's iTunesU page contains interesting content for students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Thanks to iTunesU, students will be able to download audio and video podcasts of some of their favorite Lehigh lectures to their computers and iPods.

iTunes University is a free, cross-platform application that allows for the easy management of podcasts and other media content.

With iTunesU, professors can upload audio, video and other course-related content that can be downloaded by students and stored on portable devices such as an iPod.

Though it can contain password-protected content, iTunesU isn’t only an educational aid. This new application presents Lehigh to the world with publicly available content such as news stories, alumni resources, athletic events, arts and entertainment, interviews and public lectures.

For instance, visitors can take an audio tour of the newly renovated Linderman Library or learn more about library resources through a library orientation podcast. Plus, Alumni Relations has produced several podcasts to provide students with tips on developing resumes and on interview skills. And Lehigh sports fans can get a sideline pass to Lehigh athletics, thanks to iTunesU. Regular Lehigh Athletics content on iTunesU will include interviews with coaches and student-athletes.

Students can access iTunesU from the Blackboard site if they are enrolled in a class using the application. The public can access the service by going online.

Like Apple’s iTunes store, users can subscribe to Lehigh-produced podcasts and receive updates automatically. Users can also take video tours of the campus even if they live a thousand miles away. The public page was developed in a joint effort between University Relations and LTS. LTS is very excited about the potential that iTunesU holds for Lehigh University.

Ilena Key, an Instructional Technology Consultant, encourages students, faculty, staff and alumni to visit Lehigh’s iTunesU site.

“We hope to build a rich library of interesting audio and video podcasts that highlight many of the wonderful things going on at Lehigh University,” Key said.
