Lehigh University received a $200,000 grant through the federal CARES Act under the administration of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development, and the County of Northampton, to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) items.

The grant, provided through the COVID-19 Relief Block Grant Program, is being administered through the Northampton County Department of Community and Economic Development.

Through this funding, Lehigh University was able to procure sanitary and safety materials such as table partitions and protective partitions for academic and administrative buildings across campus, as well as items such as face masks, face shields, eyeglasses, and gloves to aid in the protection against the spread of COVID-19.
