Researchers at Lehigh have joined with Frank Gresham, distinguished professor of education at the University of California, to form a national center that will determine effective strategies for treating children with the most severe social, emotional and behavioral problems.

At the head of the class: Lehigh Valley earns high marks for economic potential
Gregory Farrington, president of Lehigh University, was quoted in an article on the economic potential of the Lehigh Valley in the Lehigh Valley Real Estate Report, a publication put out by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation (LVEDC) and distributed to companies that are looking to move to or have recently moved to the Lehigh Valley. Universities are one of the greatest strategic assets that a region can have, Farrington said. Not only do the colleges and universities turn out really talented workers, but our cultural offerings make this a really
strong place to live for everyone. They are assets to be exploited.

District to mull plans for growth
At the top of the list for Bethlehem Area School District's future
building projects is a $35.5 million project for a new Broughal Middle School. Administrators had hoped to negotiate a deal to buy former Bethlehem Steel Corp. land for the school, but the district is now looking for land owned by Lehigh University on
the South Side of Bethlehem.
