The Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, a nonprofit designed to educate and connect the entrepreneurial community, has engaged Lehigh as its exclusive Academic in Residence partner. Together, the Center and Lehigh have created Lehigh@NasdaqCenter, an environment uniquely suited to advance the entrepreneurial spirit and skill sets of students in any discipline.
Lehigh@NasdaqCenter offers a campus extension for Lehigh students based in the heart of San Francisco, embedded in one of the most active startup scenes in the world.
The Center is uniquely positioned to support the development of rich, experience-based courses for students as it is a premiere resource within the San Francisco Bay Area. During its first year of operation, the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center served more than 3,000 people through its education, events, and mentorship services.
“Having worked with thousands of entrepreneurs, we have a nuanced understanding of what it takes to succeed as a growing business and when the most common challenges emerge. Some solutions can be taught in the classroom and some have to be personally experienced,” said Nicola Corzine, executive director of the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center. “We are excited to build a new curriculum with one of the best institutions for teaching entrepreneurial studies."
Lehigh president John Simon added, "We are thrilled to launch this institutional partnership with someone who shares the same drive to nurture and support the entrepreneurial pursuit of value creation in our society."
The collaboration is being initiated by Lehigh’s renowned Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity and Innovation. “This will be a university-wide collaboration with Nasdaq that taps into our shared ethos of innovation.” said Baker Institute Executive Director Lisa Getzler. “Lehigh@NasdaqCenter provides a collaborative platform for Lehigh students, faculty and alumni to engage in innovation, entrepreneurial thinking and problem solving as it relates to a wide variety of disciplines.”
