Josh Wood 04 and Adam Glielmi 04: Raising a Ruckus
Josh Wood '04 is the president of Ruckus Marketing in Moorestown, N.J. |
The business partners, who became friends during freshman year while running cross- country, didn't initially plan to work together.
Josh and I met up again at a Lehigh-Lafayette weekend, Glielmi says. He was looking for some assistance with his business and I jumped on board.
Glielmi handles the media arena by negotiating and obtaining ad space in various forms of media (magazine, billboards, television, radio) for clients.
Wood, who majored in international marketing, wears several company hats. Technically he is the president of Ruckus Marketing, but says with a laugh, I'm actually more like the ambassador to the business and our clients. His day-to-day activities involve account management, meetings with customers, and making sure all gears are working together, he says.
Morristown, New Jersey, is a feeder area for New York, making it a good starting point for Ruckus. Their clients include Sport Honda of Metuchen, N.J., which sells big-kid toys like ATVs and motorcycles; Metafile, a company that can put a person's medical files on a USB drive that fits onto a key chain; and Ready Gourmet, a company started by Kevin Stretz '04, featuring healthy (not diet) foods that are made fresh, vacuum-sealed, and delivered.
In the years ahead, Wood and Glielmi are confident their client list will continue to swell, thus creating more and more positive turbulence.
