How do you like us now?
We took some time off to completely revise your Alumni Connection e-newsletter. Please let me know what you think. We think it gives you the Lehigh news you want to read in a clear and dynamic format. For anyone who wants more … just click on “more stories” to visit the newly redesigned Lehigh News Center-- the place to go for video, podcasts and college-specific updates.
I sent my first Director’s Update e-mail to about 1,000 alumni in January 2002 and we started sending the Alumni E-Connection in November 2003 to about 18,000 alumni. This latest version incorporates many of your suggestions—which have improved the e-news tremendously—and will be received by well over 40,000 alumni! This is truly your communication tool. If there is a special section you’d like to see, or if you know an alumnus who deserves a spotlight, send me a note and I will see what I can do.
As I write this, we just celebrated several wonderful occasions on campus, including the dedication of the revamped Linderman Library. It remains the crowning jewel on our beautiful campus and has been restored magnificently. It is a must-see for your next visit back to Lehigh.
At Reunion 2007: Linked by Tradition, we welcomed many Lehigh family members back to South Mountain from the Class of 1937 to the Class of 1997. The weather was extremely cooperative all weekend. We were under a tent in the Rauch Business Center Courtyard for ReunionFest and on the University Center lawn for the Parade of Classes. This year, we moved all the Reunion events onto the main Asa Packer campus and combined the event with Commencement weekend. The feedback has been extremely positive and I look forward to hearing more.
At Commencement on May 21st, for the first time ever at Lehigh, the 50-year class marched with the graduating seniors. There are certain moments when I am really proud to serve as your Alumni Director, and Commencement was one of them. It was great to watch the members of the Class of 1957 proudly march into Goodman Stadium with our newest alumni, the Class of 2007. Be on the lookout for pictures in the upcoming issue of the Alumni Bulletin.
My best wishes for a safe and enjoyable summer. If your travels take you back to Bethlehem, please plan a stop by campus and the Alumni Association … I look forward to welcoming you home.
