Helwig helps team, helps herself to award

Bethlehem, PA- Junior forward Jocelyn Helwig has been named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week. Helwig helped Lehigh to a 2-1 record on the week, putting the squad at an all-time best four games over .500 at 7-3 on the season.
Coach Manny Oudin was proud of Helwig’s accomplishments.
She has worked very hard this season offensively, said Oudin. Jocelyn has been very impressive, especially coming off her ankle injury last season. She definitely adds to the offensive firepower of the team.
Helwig had four assists in three games this week, including assisting on both goals in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Niagara. She now has 11 points on the season, good enough for third best on the team.
The Mountain Hawks will have this week off as the students finish up midterm examinations. They return to action on Sunday as they kick off a four-game road swing with a Patriot League contest at Bucknell. Game time is set for 1:00.
