Four new members join Board of Trustees
John E. McGlade ’76, president and chief operating officer of Air Products and Chemicals in Allentown, Pa., and Marc L. Paley ’83, a supervisory board member and acting chief executive officer of eFonds AG in New York City, have been appointed to the Lehigh University Board of Trustees.
In addition, Gail L. Price-Brooks ’79, an attorney who is also president of Price, Meese, Shulman & D’Arminio, PC, in Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and Andrew C. Fiala ’92, senior human resources director of Deloitte & Touche in Los Angeles, were elected as Alumni Trustees by the Lehigh University Alumni Association.
The four new members’ terms will end in 2010.
McGlade, who lives in Allentown, Pa., is a member of the Lehigh University Career Advisory Network. He was appointed president and chief operating officer of Air Products in October 2006, and is responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as for managing the company’s regional operations, global manufacturing, industrial chemicals, and environment, health, safety and quality organizations. As a Lehigh undergraduate, McGlade was elected to membership in the national honorary societies Tau Beta Pi and Alpha Pi Mu, and also was a member of Delta Chi fraternity. McGlade earned his M.B.A. from Lehigh in 1980.
Paley, of Short Hills, N.J., is a member of the Board of Trustees Investment Subcommittee, the College of Business and Economics Advisory Board, the Lehigh University Career Advisory Network, and the Lehigh Leadership Council. He also served as chair of the College of Business and Economics Financial Services Laboratory Campaign, which raised $9.6 million for the state-of-the-art lab that offers students the opportunity to experience real-world financial issues, learn from experienced practitioners, and have access to leading-edge research. Paley is a supervisory board member and acting chief executive officer of eFonds AG, a New York City-based portfolio company of Hanseatic Corporation, a financial management services company in New York, and Lehman Brothers Inc. Paley is a former managing director of Lehman Brothers. As an undergraduate at Lehigh, he was elected to the honorary societies of Omicron Delta Kappa and Beta Alpha Psi, and also served as a gryphon. He earned his M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1987.
Price-Brooks, of Ridgewood, N.J., was president of the Lehigh University Alumni Association Board last year. She is the Class of 1979 president; serves as a Lehigh Agent and Trustee Associate of the Asa Packer Society; and is a member of the Lehigh University Career Advisory Network, the Tower Society, and the College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board. Price-Brooks founded the law firm of Price, Meese, Shulman & D’Arminio, PC in Woodcliff Lake, N.J., with three associates in 1994. The firm specializes in zoning and planning law. As an undergraduate, she was a member of The Brown and White staff and the Powderpuff Football team. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University in 1982.
Fiala, of Fullerton, Calif., has served two terms on the Lehigh University Alumni Association Board, and is a member of the Lehigh University Career Advisory Network and the Asa Packer Society. As an undergraduate, he was a Martindale Center Fellow, special events chair for the Student Activities Council, and manager for the Lehigh University swim team. Fiala earned his M.B.A. from Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, in 2000.
