No matter when the alumni attended Lehigh over the last five decades, they consistently articulated a series of attributes gleaned from their experience. The responses were captured in a video created by Lehigh videographer Stephanie Veto and in a written student life retrospective compiled by former Vice Provost for Student Affairs John Smeaton.
“Almost to a person,” said Smeaton, “I heard the same words used again and again in our interviews. Even though the student life experience changed dramatically–largely driven by generational differences and emerging technologies that changed how we communicate and process information–Lehigh students have been shaped by a culture that challenges them, supports and encourages them, and prepares them for a lifetime of success.
“It’s a testament to Lehigh,” he added, “that generations of students have been so consistently shaped by their experience here.”
