Chrin ’85 named Global Financial Services Executive-in-Residence for Fall 2009

John Chrin '85 spoke about Wall Street and the congressional bailout back in October during the Lehigh M.B.A. program’s annual Alumni Day.

John Chrin ’85, managing director and co-head of FIG M&A (Financial Institutions Mergers and Acquisitions) at J.P.Morgan, will join Lehigh University as its Global Financial Services Executive-in-Residence in August 2009.
Chrin will also serve as a Fellow of the Financial Services Laboratory in Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics, where he’ll study market developments and explore portfolio strategies with business students.
“John is intimately familiar with the historic milestones of the past few years, having played a significant role in many of the larger bank transactions during that time,” says Paul R. Brown, dean of Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics.
Chrin was a lead advisor on J.P. Morgan’s acquisition of Bear Stearns in March 2008.
“John is an enthusiastic alum of the college who has always held Lehigh in high regard,” says Brown. “He’s going to be a tremendous addition to our team, and we’re honored to have John join the Lehigh community in this new capacity.”
Chrin comes to Lehigh after spending 21 years on Wall Street, including a distinguished 16-year career with J.P.Morgan. Recognized by the financial services community as an experienced advisor in the M&A arena, Chrin has advised on over $225 Billion of M&A transactions during his investment banking career.
Chrin earned a B.A. in Economics ('85) and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering ('86) from Lehigh University. He also holds a M.B.A. from Columbia Business School ('88).
Chrin is currently a member of the College of Business and Economics’ board of advisors. He last spoke to the business school community in October 2008 when, as keynote speaker, he discussed the congressional bailout and policy implications of the financial crisis at the Lehigh M.B.A. Annual Alumni Day.
