Celebrate Lehigh - The Young Alumni Reunion 2005

If you were at the place to be, then you were in South B on October 14 and 15 with over 700 of your fellow young alumni 0-10 years removed from your blessed Lehigh days. If you weren’t, you missed out on even more great events and more friends than any of the three YAR’s we’ve had!
The welcome reception was again held at the Steelgaarden Lounge at the Bethlehem Brew Works Friday night to kick off the weekend of Alumni Association-sponsored events. Saturday, the classes of 1995 and 2000 celebrated their 10- and 5-year reunions followed by the BASH – the biggest and best party Lehigh’s campus sees all year long.
After Lehigh, sometimes you wonder – can the party keep getting better? Oh, yes it can! Over 600 alumni descended on Iacocca Hall for this year’s BASH, for one-price admission, great food and open bars. There was something for everyone with an array of hot food and desserts, Brew Works’ specialties on tap, a martini bar, and an Irish pub. Candiflyp and YNOT Rocks rocked out with the crowd on the main stage. Blackwater, a talented Irish duo, was featured in the Irish Pub in the Tower and your fellow alumni were the hit in the Karaoke room (sorry, earplugs not provided).
Many other events took place around campus during Reunion weekend. Campus tours gave alumni the chance to take a look at ALL of the construction on Lehigh’s campus. (Almost necessary to recognize the place!) The football team gave us an exciting win over Yale – in sudden-death overtime! Chris Marshall, the executive director of alumni, hopped into the pool during the swimming and diving alumni meet. Can you believe that one? Many fraternities and sororities opened their doors for Open House Events and Receptions. Zoellner Arts Center held a number of exciting shows throughout the weekend. And no trip to campus is complete with out a New-New-New, a Yo! or a Gander from “The Goose,” especially when it’s Late Night!
If you were able to attend, let us know what you thought (take the shortest survey ever here) and make room on your calendars for next year’s YAR: Oct. 20-22, 2006. If you were unable to attend this year, start getting ready for an even bigger and better Young Alumni Reunion next year!
