A Message from the President Regarding Lehigh's Inclusive Community

The following message was shared with the Lehigh community on Thursday, November 10:

Dear Lehigh Campus Community,

We would like to take this opportunity to remind you, and ask you to remind each other, that we are an inclusive community and we value and respect all members of our community. Further, we hope we will all take that responsibility beyond the boundaries of our campus, and continue to work for a more equitable and inclusive society.

Over the past several years, students, faculty, staff and the administration have taken a number of measures to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Today, and in the coming weeks, there will be a variety of campus events you might participate in to show your support for our Lehigh community and the work toward a more equitable nation and world. We hope you will be engaged in some of these efforts and will find a way to make your own contribution to the inclusive community we are all working toward.

We are guided by the Principles of Our Equitable Community. These Principles are not just words on paper; they are what we believe in and what we expect of our entire campus community.

John D. Simon, President
Patrick V. Farrell, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost
Patricia A. Johnson, Vice President for Finance & Administration
