A charitable spirit is renewed
I would like to kick off the summer by inviting you to an Incoming Student Sendoff event! Student sendoffs are an important Lehigh tradition that welcomes new members to our Lehigh family. Remember getting ready for your first day on campus? Watch a fun video of Clutch as he prepares for his first year as a Lehigh student. Please join us this summer in giving a proper welcome to the Class of 2017 at one of the many sendoff events across the country. This great summer event gives the local Lehigh community the opportunity to “send new students off” to begin the next chapter of their lives. These events are attended by fellow alumni, current students, families, and the incoming Class of 2017. You are encouraged to join the festivities!
I would like to thank our generous alumni for all you do in creating a legacy of greatness. This philanthropic spirit is prevalent in our Young Alumni. I recently attended an exciting golf outing with more than 70 Lehigh young alums from the classes of 2005-2011 and their guests at the Olde Homestead Golf Course in New Tripoli, Pa. This annual outing benefits the Lehigh Legacy Endowed Scholarship, established by John Boyle, Patrick Hamer and John Talbott, three members of the Class of 2006, who organize the outing each year. During this year’s event, the group raised close to $5k for the scholarship. I would like to thank everyone who was involved in making the 2013 golf outing a success!
How can you get involved? There are many opportunities to share your talent and inspiration within the Lehigh community. Whether you attend a Lehigh Club event, enjoy a free online webinar, or become a volunteer—raise your hand and get started today!
Additionally, giving back makes a difference in the lives of students on campus. Lehigh provides the academic environment needed to transform our students into the leaders of tomorrow. All of this is possible with your gift to the Lehigh Fund. If you have not made a gift already, please make a gift by June 30—your good deed will help students achieve success. Finally, a very special thank you to our generous alumni who have already volunteered and made a gift—your support will help transform lives.
Yours in Brown and White,
Bob Wolfenden
